Reference images, if you have them. If you have a specific hair look, makeup aesthetic, or posing style in mind, save images on your phone. These don’t need to be boudoir images specifically — any reference that communicates what you’re drawn to is useful.

Step 1 — Arrival
You arrive at TK Boudoir’s private studio at 1360 S 5th St., Suite 370, St. Charles, MO 63301. The studio is by appointment only — there’s no waiting room, no other clients, no shared space. When you arrive, the space is yours.
The team greets you — Tracy, Ashley, and Tiffany are typically all present depending on the session format and the day. For most clients, the first few minutes of arrival are where the nerves are highest. The team is experienced with this. You don’t need to arrive calm or ready. You just need to arrive.
Step 2 — Hair and makeup (Luxury Boudoir Experience clients)
For clients booked on the Luxury Boudoir Experience, the session begins with a hair and makeup appointment with Tiffany, the studio’s hair and makeup artist. This typically runs approximately 1.5 hours and happens before the camera comes out.
This part of the day does more than make you camera-ready. It gives you time to settle into the studio, talk to the team, and let the initial nervousness start to ease before anything happens in front of a lens. Tiffany works from your reference images or talks through what you have in mind — the look, the mood, how you want to feel in the photos. By the time she’s done, most clients have already relaxed significantly from where they were when they walked in.
For Muse Edit and Taste of Bravery clients who have added hair and makeup as an add-on, the same process applies. For clients doing their own — come camera-ready with more definition and colour than you’d wear day-to-day. Studio lighting is more flattening than natural light and needs more makeup to compensate.
Step 3 — Outfit review
Before the shoot begins, Ashley goes through the wardrobe you’ve brought and helps plan the order and selection of looks. For Luxury Boudoir Experience clients with unlimited changes, this is a collaborative conversation rather than a fixed plan — you might start with your most comfortable look to ease into the session, save your boldest piece for when you’re warmed up, and revisit anything that needs a second try later.
For Muse Edit clients (4 looks) and Taste of Bravery clients (1 look), the selection is tighter but the same principle applies: Ashley helps you choose what will work best for your body, the lighting, and the mood you’re going for.
This is also when accessories get sorted — jewellery, heels, robes, props — so that the transitions between looks during the shoot are as smooth as possible.
Step 4 — The shoot
The shoot itself is where most of the nervousness either lifts or stays — and for most clients, it lifts.
Here’s what actually happens in the room:
Ashley directs every pose. This is the most important thing to understand before you arrive: you are not expected to know how to pose. Ashley tells you exactly where to put your hands, how to angle your body, where to direct your gaze, what to do with your expression. Every shot is coached. Nothing is left for you to improvise.
